National Students’ conference on Information Technology (NaSCoIT), is one of them. It is specially organized to encourage IT, students, to write research papers. Besides, this conference is also focused on the recent development of ICT for Globalization since information technology subject is one of the most globally demanded and updated themes among all students and professionals. So Information Technology has a global market based on education and job. Theoretical knowledge is not big enough to shape the career in IT fields; practical experience is also needed. So, many conferences, workshop, and seminars are conducted every year to give information on the current trend of technology to every students and profession. Likewise, Nepal College of Information Technology is also going to perform its 8th NATIONAL STUDENTS’ CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (NaSCoIT 2016) on “International IT Conference on ICT for Intelligent Computing” on 27th August 2016 at Park Village Resort, Budanilkantha, Kathmandu, Nepal. So it has asked for papers from the university/college students (including recent graduates, Ph.D. degree holders) on the following topics: Mobile computing Smart Computing Cloud computing Ubiquitous computing Green computing Big data Optical Communications and Networking Network management and Services Industrial Robotics Semantic web technologies ICT for nation development Ad-hoc networks Sensor networks and wireless communication Knowledge management and Engineering Internet of Things Bio-informatics ICT for disaster management Embedded system and software Ethical Hacking and Computer Security.

Considering the growing interest towards IT education in the country, an attempt was made by Nepal College of Information Technology, for the first time in Nepal, to provide a common platform to IT students for sharing their views and ideas by organizing a national level IT conference:

National Students Conference in Information Technology (NaSCoIT) in the year 2003 AD, Hon. Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission, Dr. Shankar Sharma inaugurated the conference.

The Second NaSCoIT conference was organized on 15 May 2004, it was inaugurated by the Hon. Vice Chancellor of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Prof. Dayananda Bajracharya. Similarly the Third, Fourth and Fifth NaSCoIT conferences were held on 21 May 2005, 20 May 2006 and 18 August 2007 and those conferences were inaugurated by Mr Kirtinidhi Bista, RT. Hon. Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Prof Suresh Raj Sharma, Hon. Vice Chancellor of Kathmandu University and Er Saroj Devkota, Chairman, HLCIT respectively. The Sixth NaSCoIT conference was organized as the SAARC Regional IT Conference on Open Source on 12 Sept 2009 and Dr Kamal Krishna Joshi was invited as the chief guest of the conference. Elevating the conference to the height of an international scenario, the Seventh NaSCoIT with the theme “International Conference on ICT for Glocalization”, was organized on 28th September 2013 at Park Village Resort, Prof Khagendra Prasad Bhattarai, Vice Chancellor of Pokhara University, inaugurated the conference.
