3Entrance Test Formats

This year also NCIT shall be conducting paper-based Entrance Tests. Getting through these tests is mandatory for Admission. The Entrance Test appropriately assesses the examinee in areas related to his/her choice of course: Engineering, BCA or BBA.

4Result

The Results of the Entrance Tests are based on the order of merit and normally declared the next day.

The names or code no. of the selected applicants are posted one the college website www.ncit.edu.np

5Offer of Admission and Acceptance

Selection will be on the basis of Entrance score and Interviews. For the Interview session, candidates should be accompanied by Parents/Guardians. Selected Candidates need to confirm their admission as soon as possible after the publication of results on a first–come–first basis since the College has limited seats on offer for enrollment.

6Enrollment

The college will confirm admission forth with subject to the payment of fees. Successful applicants shall be enrolled as bonafide NCIT students on the completion of this process.

1. When was NCIT College established?

NCIT College was established In 2001 A.D under the affiliation of Pokhara University.

2. What are the programs offered at NCIT?

The programs offered at NCIT are BE Computer, BE Information Technology, BE Electronic & Communication, BE Civil, BE Software Engineering (BE Programs), Bachelor of Business Administration(BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) and Master of Computer Engineering, Master of Computer Science and Master of Computer Information System (Master’s Programs).

3. What are the class timings at NCIT?

Bachelors’ Morning shift classes run from 7:00 AM-1:45 PM, Bachelors Day shift classes run from 10:40 AM - 5:20 PM and Masters Evening classes run from 5:30 PM-9:00 PM

4. What are the eligibility criteria for the students to get admission in Bachelor’s Program?

Applicants must have the following minimum levels in +2 or equivalent exams

Entry Criteria for Bachelor of Engineering
The candidates should have completed SLCE (Class 12) examination of NEB or equivalent level
from a recognized academic institution.
The candidates should have studied at least one course (having at least 100 Full marks or 5
credits) each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
The candidates should have scored a minimum of 45% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0)
and at least Grade C. (In case of A-level, at least Grade D) or 45% in each subject (Physics,
Chemistry and Mathematics). The minimum criterion of Grade C (in case of A-level Grade D) or
45% does not apply to other courses or extra courses if any.
Candidates should have studied mathematics of at least: 00marks in SLCE (class 11 or class 12)
examination of NEB or equivalent level.

Entry Criteria for Bachelor of Computer Application Program
The candidates should have completed SLCE (Class 12) examination of NEB or equivalent level
from a recognized academic institution.
The candidates should have studied a course (having least 100 full marks or 5 credits) of
Mathematics (Mathematics/ Business Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics) or Computer
Science/Computer Application in SLCE (class 11 or class 12) examination of NEB or equivalent
level.
The Candidate should have minimum of 49% or a CGPA/GPA of 2.0 (on a scale of 4.0) and at least
Grade C. (In case of A-level, at least Grade D) or 45% in Mathematics/Computer Science. The
minimum criterion of Grade C (in case of A-level Grade D) or 45% does not apply to other
courses.

5. What is the procedure for admission at NCIT?

Admission at NCIT is given only to +2 or equivalent level passed students on the basis of an entrance test.

6. When will the Entrance Test be held?

At Pokhara University, there is no provision of Central Entrance Examination in Bachelors' Program. Each affiliated college can take the entrance exam by themselves. The entrance exam for this year will be on  22 Ashwin, 2080 (9 October 2023).

8. Does NCIT offer scholarships to Bachelors’ students?

We offer a large number of wide-ranging scholarships based on +2/equivalent results, Entrance Tests, Semester End Results, and PU scholarships. NCIT scholarships are awarded to deserving students to recognize merit and nurture excellence.

9. Are the fees of NCIT affordable?

Of course, in the Engineering domain, the fee structure of NCIT is reasonable. We make it a point to keep our fees as low as feasible without any hidden costs and without compromising on what we give to our students.

10. Does NCIT have any hostel/transportation facility?

No, NCIT doesn't have its own hostel and transportation system.

11. What is the annual intake capacity of NCIT?

We do have 7 Bachelor’s and 3 Master’s programs. Annually, NCIT enrolls 528 students in Bachelors and 180 students in Masters program.

12. How does a fresh +2 graduate can differentiate the different domain of Engineering like Computer Engineering, IT Engineering, Software Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering in a simple way?

BE Computer is a generic course in which both Hardware and Software subjects are taught. This is a core course of Computer, in which students learn how to design machines or computers.

BEIT is actually ICT (Information Communication Technology) course. In this course, students are taught Programming Language and Hardware in Communication which is essential for ICT Course.

BE Software course is specially designed to produce Computer Programmers in which Software development is focused and it has less hardware oriented courses.

Electronics and Communication Engineering is a dynamic and wide area of engineering that covers Fiber Optic Technology, Integrated Circuit Designs, Audio and Video signal processing, wired and wireless Network Communication etc.

13. What is the teaching – learning methodology in current situation during and after covid pandemic?

Being a Technical College, we have high-tech facilities to enhance the teaching learning activities. Basically, classes are running through virtual means during covid pandemic. Most of the courses in higher semesters are taught through Multimedia projectors and OHP using PowerPoint slides and white boards/ Marker in lower semesters. Presentations, Project works, work shop, seminar, training, field visit, Interaction with Visiting Faculties and Experts are integral part of our classes.
